Getting  To Northern Cyprus

Getting to Northern Cyprus by Sea

There are schedule ferryboats travelling from Girne (Kyrenia) and Gazi Magusa (Famaugsta) to Turkey.  Turkey’s south coast ports are Mersin, Alanya and Tasucu.  There are passenger ferries and car ferries but the car ferryboats run much slower than the passenger ferries.

This brings up the subject of Passports and Visas which we have given detailed in our information section under the title Permits and Visas.

Flights to the TRNC

Getting to the TRNC (Ercan) is not as quick as flying say to Paris or Spain but is well worth the trip

As Many of our visitors to this site will already know, there are no direct flights to the TRNC from any other country other than Turkey.  This does not create a problem travelling to North Cyprus (Ercan) as flights to North Cyprus touch down in Turkey making a brief stop (approx 3/4 hour) before continuing the journey onto Ercan Airport.  During this stop passengers remain on the aircraft.

Travelling from or wish to stop over in Turkey you can continue your journey to Ercan North Cyprus by using one of the many scheduled flights.  Dependent on the airport that you depart the journey takes 60-90 mins.
